"i have a theory that i'm trying to test and i need some contribution from all of you. my theory is that i can change the world, not save it, one hug at a time. think of the "free hugs" t-shirts you've seen people wearing even though they're not hugging anyone.. but instead of making it into a fad, i'd actually like everyone to do the following:
*over the course of the next month, PLEASE hug as many people as you can, and ask them to do the same to others. it can be people you know, people you don't, whatever you're more comfortable with. Even if it's 5 people, just really give them a hug with some feeling behind it.*
why? well, ever notice how great a hug feels whether you're really happy or feeling a little bit down? and the pay it forward project, remember that? well, if we apply those principles to hugging someone and putting a smile on their face, i really believe it can make a difference. no, this isn't some insane hippie bullshit enduced by hallucinagenics or marijuana. this came to me while i was completely sober, mourning the eventual loss of the humility on our planet. i was thinking about what makes me feel good, something that can't be bought, sold, manufactured or synthesized...and after thinking long and hard, i came up with the simplest answer; Occam's Razor if you will. i realized that a hug goes so very far down into your heart that it makes you feel wonderful, even if you can't acknowledge it. so please, help me to test this theory. and if you are in another state or country, please please spread the word there too. hug someone or 5 someones, and ask them to please do the same. if they ask why, just tell them that there's a girl out there who believes she can change this world for the better, one hug at a time.
i WILL change this world, because i believe that i can.
thank you, please drive through."
